Nominations for the 2027 Faculty Teaching Award

The Faculty Teaching Award has been presented annually since 2007 for outstanding teaching by the KIT Executive Board in collaboration with the student councils. The award is accompanied by a cash prize of €10,000 to be used for teaching purposes.

As you may recall from the orientation week, all students in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology are members of the ETIT Student Council, so we would naturally like to hear your suggestions too. If there is a particular instance of exciting, informative or motivating teaching that has stuck in your memory, please let us know here.

The following may be nominated:

Individuals: Members of the academic staff.

Groups: Research groups and teams actively involved in teaching.

Organisational units: Institutes or departments within the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology responsible for teaching.

You can find out who has already received the award in recent years, as well as further information, here: https://www.kit.edu/kit/fakultaetslehrpreis.php

The 2026 Faculty Teaching Award in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology was awarded to Prof. Barth and his team. (Unfortunately, this is not yet on the website)

We urge you not to renominate anyone who has been nominated in the last few years.

The final proposal is expected to be put to a vote at the Student Council meeting on 15 July 26. (6.00 pm in the small ETI lecture theatre, Building 11.10)

Thank you very much for taking part!
